Twenty-two days without
Rain, until this morning sun
Stuck in the sky's invisible umbrella
And a smog veneer hides the mountains.
Inversions, liars, double-crossers crossing
Crosswalks: ugly dry dirty grey
Even though rain washed
Dried urine gasoline wet, perfuming
The streets crackle and spit
Dust into my eyes and into my mouth
A not-rainy-enough-day headache crawls.
